Le Mans is much more than the greatest endurance race in the world. It has its own ambience and atmosphere and an electricity and excitement that you can almost touch. Quite apart from the racing don't forget the live rock bands and stage acts plus of course the 'circuit village' with its bars, cafes, champagne tents and giant screen TVs with live coverage of the race. The bars and cafes in the village (very close to the Wildside HQ motorhome) run throughout the night and the champagne bar has an inexhaustible supply of bubbly at incredibly good prices and every bottle nicely chilled!
To really capture the essence of Le Mans wander out to the circuit in the early hours perhaps when dawn is just starting to break and when only the die-hards are awake and appreciate the skills of the drivers who still have some 10 hours to go until the finish. Alternatively, jump on board the exclusive Wildside coach for a night-time tour to the Mulsanne and Arnage corners. The coach will be running from 9.00pm until the early hours.
The Wildside Base is open for the 24 hours with a ready supply of snacks and help yourself barbecue of hot and freshly cooked food, beers, wines and soft drinks plus coffee and tea. Hot and cold water is on tap for wash and brush-ups. Saturday night will be Chilli Tex Mex party time, plus in the morning it’s a choice of English or continental brekkie with tea and coffee and at lunchtime we will be offering roast beef or hand carved ham baguettes, salads and other appetizing delicacies….
Day 1 - The ‘raid’ departs from Dover docks on Friday morning with the usual mix of Wildside fast back roads along the twisting curves and sweeps of forgotten France (where it’s rare to see any Police) towards Le Mans. The routes are all laid out with mileage and time checks in the road book supplied. After the lunch-stop the route continues through the beautiful Suisse-Normande to our hotel. Dinner is served at 8.00pm and the bar stays open very, very late. Why not visit the Casino and nightclub just 2 minutes walk away?
Day 2 – After breakfast we depart on a back road route along some fantastic sweeping roads until we reach Le Mans – around 45 minutes away. By staying to the north west of Le Mans we avoid the traffic build up of Brits heading for the circuit from the main ports so the roads are very quiet and traffic free. Into the track and park up near the motorhome which has already got the beers chilling… The race starts at 4.00pm so you have plenty of time to check out the attractions of the ‘village’ behind the pits and paddock with its bars, cafes, trade stands etc., and the fairground which is well worth a visit in its own right. (Don’t miss the shotgun shooting stand)! There will be a barbecue going through the day to cope with the attacks of the nibbles and in the evening there will be Tex Mex Chili cook out Party. The Wildside Night Coach departs at 9.00pm to the Arnage and Mulsanne corners and will run through until the early hours.
Day 3 – Breakfast is on the go from 7.00am with bacon butties, fruits, croissants etc., readily available and the rest of the day is free for you to roam the track before returning for Sunday lunch at the Wildside HQ. After the race you make your way back to Calais for the return ferry. Your tickets are valid on any Sunday sailing (provided there is space available) so you can leave early if you prefer.
THE ROUTE - At the docks each car will be handed out a road book which contains the route all the way to the hotel and then onto Le Mans and the circuit. The route has been pre-driven and uses a combination of motorway and backroads. Wherever possible we have kept off the main access roads to Le Mans so there won’t be nearly as much as traffic (or Police) as if you were going direct to the circuit on the tourist routes.
THE HOTEL – Our hotel is just 45 minutes from Le Mans in the Suisse Normande region. All the rooms are en-suite with colour TV and parking is in the grounds. An excellent 4-course dinner is included in the evening with wine and breakfast will be served the next morning before we depart to the track. Bring your swimmers as the hotel has an indoor pool and a roof bar terrace that overlooks the delightful lake in the centre of the town.
MOTORHOME - The Wildside Sport motorhome is crewed up with a staff and fully stocked with beers, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee, bacon, eggs, etc., - help yourself it’s all included and the crew will be cooking a Tex Mex extravaganza, Barbie, Sunday roast beef baguettes and salads lunch and of course an English style Sunday breakfast (with a touch of continental style). We do not pretend to be offering a 5 star non-stop gourmet service but there will be ample chairs and tables around the ‘HQ’ under two large roofed carpeted enclosures so it’s a perfect area to chill out and relax. It really is a home away from home (well almost) with stereo, CD system, toilets, hot and cold water.
SATURDAY NIGHT - Once you are at the track you may as well stay put during the night. Doubtless it will be a late one with visiting the fairground, sampling the bars, catching the racing etc., so when you want to grab a few hours sleep crash out in the car or use one of the pre-erected tents at the HQ.
THE WILDSIDE NIGHT COACH - You will have access to the exclusive Wildside Night Coach which will be running a shuttle service from the Blue Zone to the Arnage and Mulsanne corners throughout the Saturday evening and into the early hours of Sunday morning. This will give you the chance to see the circuit during the magical hours of darkness from a completely different perspective as the cars brake from over 250 kph to 35 kph with brake discs glowing and exhausts flaring….

UK TRIP - The price based on 2 people sharing a car and hotel room is £395 per person for British group requiring ferry.
MAINLAND EUROPE - For European readers not requiring the ferry, the price based on 2 people sharing a car and hotel room is £345 per person.
HOSPITALITY ONLY - A Hospitality Only package is also available from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon for £169 per person.
CAMPING ONLY Tour also available from £295 per person

RACE TICKETS
We can arrange for general admission and grandstand tickets. You need a general admission to get in! This ticket also gets you access to the village area, trackside viewing areas, Arnage and Mulsanne corners. If you are booking a grandstand seat these are available on a first come first served basis. If your choice is unavailable we will allocate you a seat in the stand closest. If booking a grandstand seat you will still require a general admission ticket.
General Admission tickets are £59 per person
Start/Finish grandstand seats are £99 each
CAR PARK TICKETS
You will need a Green Car Park ticket (one per car) and these should be purchased in advance so complete the section on the booking form. Any tickets that may be available on the day are for the overflow car park which is approximately a 15 minute walk form the motorhome.
Green Parking Tickets are £29 per car
SINGLE ROOMS
A limited number of single occupancy rooms are available. The supplement for a single room is £49.
EXTRA NIGHT
Rather than rushing back on Sunday take an extra night and book a room back in the hotel that we used on the Friday night. You can then take a more leisurely drive back on the Monday.. The cost per room is £60.00
